Phytochemistry and Pharmacology of Zanthoxylum gilletii: A Review

Aim: Zanthoxylum gilletii is used in traditional medicine against several pains, namely urinary tract infections, malaria, lombargy, high blood pressure etc. Thus, the aim of this study was to review literature on traditionnal use, phytochemical composition and biological activities above-mentioned plant.
 Methodology: A conducted based scientific results sourced from Science Direct, PubMed, Google Scholar, SciLEO PubMed Central. The plant name as a search keyword together with following words phytochemistry, pharmacology, bioactivity pharmacognosia.
 Results: Z. extracts have shown antimicrobial, antifungal, antiparasitic anticancer activities. Several compounds been reported different parts including alkaloids, amides, coumarins essential oils interesting properties such antioxidant antimicrobial However, there are, date, whose are not known, especially that belonging oil class. At same time, also observed but for which responsible unknown.
 Conclusion: All Z.gilletii decoction most recommended method preparation. Data studies quite poor, oils.
